Regional Species of Greatest Conservation Need (RSGCN) are the foundation of conservation collaboration in the Northeastern states. Every five years, taxonomic experts throughout the region work together to review the list, adding species with newly documented declines or emerging threats, and removing more secure species. The latest update occurred in 2023, and information on RSGCN species, their associated habitats, threats, previous conservation statuses, and state occurrences can be found and downloaded from the Airtable below. To find out more about these species, you can explore the Northeast Conservation Synthesis or the many regional fact sheets like the RSGCN Fact Sheet.
